Effects of alcohol according to the phase of the menstrual cycle
- A study from the Duke University Medical Center in the United States explains how alcohol is related to the menstrual cycle and that, despite being more aggressive in women compared to men with diseases such as cirrhosis, the sedative effect is less in the females for this study they used male and female mice, whose cycle phases of the latter are similar to those of women.
- After administering the same amount of alcohol to males and females and observing their reactions and behavior, they concluded that female mice were less sensitive than males in the first and last phases of the menstrual cycle.
